Most companies have a motto or slogan that defines its branding and corporate philosophy. True Promise Beauty, Inc. has “I Promise to Live Beautifully”

How does this promise apply to you and your life?

Advice is a tricky thing at best because no one knows you better than yourself. To listen to another spout “pearls of wisdom” about how you should live, think, feel and act is only based on their experiences, not yours. I’m all about the individual discovering for themselves who they are as only you can define your core values and philosophies. No other person in the world can do that for you.

To that end, mentally examine your motivations and thought processes. You might start with a simple hypothetical question: ask yourself with brutal honesty what action you would NEVER, EVER take even with a loaded gun pointed at your head. You’ll find that your answer will astound you. It’s the thing that we can’t bring ourselves to ever do that literally defines our character. From that point forward, you will begin to see and understand just who you are as an individual. That’s the key to real self discovery.

Life is very simple in its application. We, all of us, create exactly the life we choose to live. Nothing befalls us. We aren’t victims by any means. We are literally the governor and captain of each choice and decision we make at every juncture. Sadly, most people, young or old, male or female don’t recognize this basic fact because it’s much easier to blame circumstances or other people for our lives, rather than face head on that it’s merely our choices as adults which mold and create both our present and future lives. Choice and free will is all you have. It’s all any of us has.

So the life you create must be based on a solid understanding of just who you are as a person. Know first- hand exactly where your boundaries lie. That’s more important than knowing your talents or potential. It’s the deep personal knowledge of where you draw the line in the sand that defines you. What you will unequivocally say “NO” to in your life. The rest is easy and you will learn as each new circumstance comes your way. Mentally envision the life you wish to lead. All else will follow.

An interesting aside: adversity and failure are in reality the greatest teachers. You learn with each mistake or downfall exactly where the hidden land mines are so that the next time you walk around them without blowing up

Love yourself and believe in yourself. This isn’t conceit but the real foundation for success and your ability to love anyone else. It has to start first with your ability to love and admire yourself. That’s the core of real self-respect, but it must be based on both your actions and treatment towards yourself and all others in your life. Healthy self-love and respect is earned by your day to day deeds.

Life is the most wonderful and exciting experience. Remember that you have all the power in the world to lead the life you choose if you only “Promise to Live Beautifully”.
